Location: Évora or Lisbon (Portugal)

We are looking for Devops/Cloud Engineer to join our team in Évora or Lisbon (remote is possible) and working on cool Insuretech, Fintech, Pharmatech, Blockchain and A.I. projects and our products. We are a dynamic AI startup with clients in Switzerland, Germany, and the USA. We work with top-notch tech, use containers, cloud, automation and other cool stuff.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements
  • Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, highly available and cost optimized
  • Provision, configure and maintain cloud infrastructure defined as code
  • Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools
  • Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas
  • Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis infrastructure and systems
  • Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization
  • Monitor site stability and performance and troubleshoot site issues
  • Provide technical guidance and educate team members and co-workers on DevOps and CI/CD best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with new tools and technologies and facilitate their adoption
  • Participate in discussions & brainstorming sessions on architecture, design, and logic/algorithms

 

Must Have Skills

  • Strong bias for action and ownership
  • Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
  • Be a self-starter who requires little day to day supervision/directions
  • At least 2 years of professional experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud experience
  • At least 2 years of professional experience building and maintaining infrastructure (Network, Computing, Security, Storage, Databases, Integration, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of how to secure cloud environments and meet compliance requirements
  • Solid foundation of networking and Linux administration
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, Puppet, Chef or equivalent tools
  • Experience with Docker, containerization and container orquestrators (ideally Kubernetes)
  • Familiar with CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, or other) and previous experience implementing build, deployment and other pipelines
  • Experience with build tools (Maven, gradle, npm, or other)

 

Nice-To-Have Skills

  • Cloud or other technical certifications
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Knowledge of any backend technology: Java, NodeJs, C#, Python, etc.
  • Knowledge of any frontend technology: Angular, React, JQuery, etc.
  • Knowledge of any database technology: MySQL, MongoDB, etc.
  • Knowledge of ELK stack

Education and Other Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and work successfully with a globally distributed team
  • Adaptable, enthusiastic, and willing to take ownership
  • Exceptional written, and verbal communication skills
  • Inquisitive, analytical, and creative problem solver
